Glen Dye

John was our Ken today for the short walk up Glen Dye. He'd researched the route and came armed with map and instructions, as he displays here in the first team photo:

l-r: Dave Williamson, Andy Marshall, John McWhinnie, Stewart Craig, Ian Stewart & Ian Sharp

Conditions were very pleasant - no wind - and the route was mostly flat on good Land Rover track. In fact, we were speculating about returning to cycle this area some time.

The Charr Bothy, just 3 miles on, marked the turning point, and we all posed for yet another team photo:

We came back via a slightly higher track to give us a circular route. Total distance covered was 6.65 miles (10.7 kms) at a very gentle pace, taking almost two and a half hours. Full stats here - http://www.mapmywalk.com/workout/958717215

Dave and Stewart headed back to Potarch and Westhill respectively, but the rest of us had a variety of bacon, sausage and black pudding butties at the golf club. We timed it well, as hail showers and dark clouds appeared as forecast for the afternoon.
