Banchory Veterans' Hill-walkers

From http://bvhill-walkers.blogspot.com/ We didn't have the best of days for our last training walk prior to the main event in just over 2 weeks' time, and, in the end, only 3 of us made it along for the planned march up Lochnagar. Ian drove and it was full gear on when we arrived at the car park at Loch Muick, where the team photo was taken: It was showery, cool and windy and Ken thought it would be very exposed going up the main path towards Lochnagar, so we headed towards the loch, turned right this time, across the bridge towards the old boathouse, and then along the north side of the loch - the opposite way to the walk we did round Loch Muick a couple of months ago. CK would never have coped - he has to go round the loch clockwise! We eventually got to the woods where the alternative return route down from the mountain meets the loch (see map on blog) and headed up there. If we do go up Lochnagar, I reckon we should plan to leave Banchory about 8am. Whilst I'm happy to take my car, it might be a bit tight if there are 5 of us going - are there any other volunteer drivers? We also need to finalise numbers - Jack, Ian, Ken, me and possibly John were those who earlier expressed interest - any change to that?

Needs 2 cars but just a short drive between start and finish. I’ll dig out the map and scan the route". Have fun - and don't forget the photos!

From http://bvhill-walkers.blogspot.com/ I think I'm now going to have to pass my apologies for the planned walk a week on Sunday. I saw my cardiologist on Monday and he has arranged for me to have an Angiogram on Friday 30th July. He has warned me there will be some bruising and some pain for a few days afterwards, so, if he's right, I won't be fit enough to go walking on the Sunday. I do hope Ken, Dave and Colin will still manage to go ahead with the walk - and, you never know, there's an outside chance I might still make it. Let us know what the plans are, Ken.

For Lochnagar, there could be 5 of us - Ian, John, Jack, Ken and I. Please advise asap if I've got any of this wrong - and, of course, any others - Dan, Gordon? - are very welcome to join us.
