Potarch to Banchory

Colin, Nigel and I took the opportunity of the continuing fine weather to complete another local walk yesterday. Colin had missed out on the walk we did from Potarch back to Banchory via the back of Scolty so he asked if we didn't mind doing this one again? No problem said Nigel and I.

We caught the 12:50 bus and started walking from Potarch not too long after 1 pm and soon built up a sweat, with Nigel, as usual, having to be reined back at the start. All went well up to Shooting Greens and we remembered the route from there, but we were thrown a bit of a wobbly when it came to a junction further on. Remembering the edict "keep the trees on your left" but faced with a no entry sign painted on the track on the way we wanted to go, we had no option but to take the alternative track to the left, which eventually led us back down to the Deeside Way - we think via Goauch Hill - a route none of us had ever been on before.

Anyway, it all worked out well in the end and we were back sitting on the balcony at the golf club quaffing pints of Ossian by 4:15 pm. Another excellent afternoon.

Here's the photos and the stats:

I think my head is blocking the view of Clach-na-Beinn

We even found a friendly bench
